I am a fierce advocate for independents of all shapes and sizes: small businesses, arts spaces, music venues – I champion anyone who is in the vanguard of creative culture. I’ve spent the past fifteen years working in events and love breathing life and community into unusual buildings. With a portfolio across production, marketing and project management, I’ve personally planned and delivered over 200 unique weddings in over 40 different venues.
My clients have described me as open, relatable and honest – feedback I’m truly proud of. I genuinely try to see the best in everyone and bring a positive energy to any event I’m involved in. Life’s too short to be any other way, in my opinion.
I founded the Indie Wedding Fair™ in 2015 after several dispiriting visits to wedding fairs in the run up to my own wedding. Whilst goodie bags containing femfresh wipes, dubious teeth whitening treatments and razors did make me chuckle; these, alongside slimming products and medical procedures being represented at these expos peddled the notion that changing yourself or fitting into a traditional mould of what it is to be “a perfect bride” or have a “perfect day” seemed bonkers, and was the catalyst to spark this alternative offering of mine. All our differences, wants and preferences are equally valid and should be celebrated, I believe. It’s been a wild ride working in the wedding industry (not least navigating the brutal effects of the pandemic) but I’m thrilled to say I’m yet to lose the love for the industry.
When I’m not working, you can find me up to my eyeballs in Victorian house renovation (a Sisyphean task), ferrying my children to their various hobbies (armed with endless snacks) or hanging out with my family and friends and my whippet (they’re the greatest).
As much as I love the frenetic pace of events, I love nothing more than having a beer on the sofa with my long-suffering husband, putting the world to rights and pausing Netflix relentlessly to ask each other, “what have we seen them in?”.

I’ve spent most of my career in events — from high-volume hotels and city venues to weddings, fundraisers and everything in between — and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that the best events are never the ones that follow the rules or the trends.
I first worked with Ellie freelancing at pop up weddings around Sheffield and then as the Wedding Coordinator at Abbeydale Picturehouse. It didn’t take long to realise we had the same approach: less copy-and-paste packages, more “let’s make something that actually feels like you”.
Between us, we’ve delivered hundreds of events across all kinds of spaces — from polished venues to places that definitely weren’t designed to host a wedding (which are often the best ones). I’ve led teams, managed budgets, handled last-minute curveballs and kept things running smoothly behind the scenes so that, on the day, it all just works. No drama. No panic. Just a lot of quiet problem-solving and a calm and approachable resource on hand.
These days, alongside Indie Events, I lead on fundraising and events within the charity sector — which means I’m used to making a lot happen, often with limited time, tight budgets, and plenty of moving parts. It’s made me resourceful, quick-thinking, and very good at figuring things out on the fly (usually with a cup of coffee in hand).
Coming back as Indie Events (you might have known us in our Inner City Weddings era!) feels like getting the band back together — just with more experience, better instincts, and a slightly lower tolerance for nonsense.
I’m not here to tell you what your day should look like. I’m here to help you figure out what you actually want — whether that’s a warehouse party, a relaxed outdoor celebration, or something that doesn’t quite fit into a category — and then make it happen without the stress.
No fluff. No unnecessary traditions. No pretending you care about things you don’t.

EVE
With a career spanning live events, documentary production, touring and creative project management, I bring a calm, organised and people-focused approach to my role as a Wedding Coordinator. Having already supported a wide range of weddings with Ellie over the past ten years, I’ve worked across some of South Yorkshire’s most distinctive venues, including Wood Lane Countryside Centre, Trafalgar Warehouse and Abbeydale Picture House, alongside beautiful rural venues throughout the region and further afield, in Manchester.
My background combines over ten years’ experience as a documentary producer and production manager with extensive live event coordination across the music, film and festival industries. I’ve toured as a promoter’s rep with The Boomtown Rats, supporting them with their large-scale live events and artist logistics in fast-paced environments where adaptability, communication and problem-solving are essential.
I’m passionate about creating calm, seamless and enjoyable wedding days for couples, ensuring every detail comes together smoothly so they can fully enjoy the moment with their family and friends. Known for my organised approach, friendly presence and ability to adapt under pressure, I love helping bring each couple’s vision to life whether that’s an intimate gathering or a large-scale celebration.
